@gianluca.mauro: On vibe coding - experience from a top product manager #Ai #LearnOnTikTok #artificialintelligence #business #machinelearning #product #ux #entrepreneur #vibecoding
vibe coding works for software engineers. You can have the AI make a technical design document, review it manually. finalize it. have the AI complete and test phase by phase. Each phase the AI generates a markdown with all of its workings. Engineers can review and test. they can identify where things went wrong.
problem is, an Ai agent can act as an engineer too 😢

I feel that AI is only really helpful for people who have built products before. If you understand how to architect your product and guide AI with good context and best practices it’s good.

just use cloude sonnet 4.5, but you need to be with a heavy software engineering background, it has its downfalls, but its a real beast when its guided right

AI assisted development it’s perfect for actual developers. If you know how to debug, it’s a dream come true

Its been a month since ive started working on esports tournaments creator web app with loveable. About 500$ spent, absurd amount of credits spent on solving problems that didnt even exist, lots of frustration but i finally realsed the “i hope working version”. After testing it, every important function works fun, but we will se what happens when people start using it. What i learned is that i should switch much more often to the chat mode (where loveable cannot introduce changes in code). and ask questions: how it solves our problem? Isnt that an overkill?

Claude is way better with complex code and can actually help you out with the fundementals for anyone trying to vibe code

My rule of thumb for these things is the 80/20 principle: with AI, it can handle the first 80% of a project quickly and efficiently, but it’s the final 20% where humans do the essential work.

I use ai some times for coding… but I do not he most important things by my own, so all fassion Claude projects and I know exactly what I’m doing and how to test coz, I can build same things without ai, if I need 😑 So real product eventually I build from the ai parts, but it’s full controlled by me… I don’t believe that ai will still my job , but I’m faster now

It kinda applies to animation and vfx too. The more I try to implement AI the more frustrated I get. It's useful for "prototyping" but it's full of flaws. There's room for artists in the future too.

it works if you have some understanding
my first apps crashed, trow it away, they were good and after could not make it works
right now, I'm ongoing with some apps that everyday I can improve it, made from scratch with vibecoding
whenever you want I can show you how to make them

I totally agree. It’s a good junior engineer that you can shape. I became the engineering mgr but I still need to know my stuff. You can’t go from project mgr to end product skipping engineering yet
