@chifuyu1991_0: Every day in our province, I find myself drawn to the sea before sunset. There’s something magical about watching the sun bid its daily goodbye over the wide, endless ocean. I feel lucky to have such a perfect view, nothing but the calm waters and the glowing horizon. Each sunset paints a different masterpiece, and waiting for it has become my favorite ritual. Có một loài hoa ở Huế không bao giờ tàn. Nó không mọc lên từ đất. Nó lớn lên từ đôi tay, một thanh tre chẻ mỏng, vài tờ giấy nhuộm màu, một chút hồ dán. Người làng Thanh Tiên đã làm ra loài hoa ấy suốt hơn ba trăm năm, bên khúc sông Hương chảy chậm về hạ lưu. Điều lạ là: hoa không héo, nhưng mỗi năm người ta vẫn thay một lần. Cành hoa cũ trên trang thờ, trên am ngoài sân, trên bàn thờ ông Táo được hạ xuống. Cành hoa mới lên thay chỗ. Không phải vì hoa hỏng. Mà vì có những thứ muốn giữ, thì mỗi năm đều phải làm lại từ đầu. Chúng mình ngồi cả một buổi chiều trong sân một ngôi nhà ở Thanh Tiên, nhìn những ngón tay đã quen việc đến mức không cần nhìn: vuốt cánh, xoay cành, chấm hồ. Và mình hiểu ra: thứ mà người nghệ nhân Thanh Tiên làm ra không chỉ là hoa. Đó là cách một vùng đất giữ lấy lòng thành của mình, bằng giấy, bằng tre và bằng việc năm nào cũng bắt đầu lại. It grows from a pair of hands - a sliver of bamboo, a few sheets of dyed paper, a touch of glue. For more than three hundred years, the people of Thanh Tiên village have been making these flowers on a slow bend of the Hương River. Here's the strange part: they never wilt, and yet every year they are replaced. The old branch comes down from the family altar, from the small shrine in the yard, from the kitchen god's place. A new one takes its spot. Not because the old one is ruined, but because some things, to be kept, must be made again from the beginning each year. We spent an afternoon in a courtyard in Thanh Tiên, watching fingers so used to the work they no longer needed to look: smooth the petal, turn the stem, dab the glue. We asked how long he had been doing this. And it made sense. What Thanh Tiên makes isn't flowers.
