In 2016 I was 40 and my dr had a partial and I begged for my ovaries to go to because I lost my mom to a hormone fed cancer….. he wouldn’t do it. Then in 2023 I had a huge cyst that wouldn’t go away and he went back in and took that ovary because the cyst was attached and attached to my small intestines. I woke up and he said I kept your right one because it “looked” fine! Well, guess what it wasn’t “fine” and I had the last one removed April 2025! My advice after three surgeries and all the issues that have come with it is find a doctor that will remove everything at once! The last surgery I had a new woman gynecologist, who said by my labs I had been in menopause for a few years and with the history of cancer he should’ve clean me out when I was 40 years now I’m 50 still struggling with the HRT balance. Ugh. 😩

I kept the ovaries and 9 months later I feel crazy because I swear menopause is happening anyway from the extremes with my hormones, emotions and rage. How did they realize it was happening for you…just a blood test of levels?

Can you talk to me about the mental toll a hysterectomy takes on you? I thought I had more time to come to terms with mine. It was supposed to be October 9th. But my husband was laid off last week. So it got moved up to August 21st. I am struggling mentally with this. I am 41 and am having a total. HRT depends on how much endometriosis is found. If some is found, then no estrogen is going to given for 3 months in order to try to stop production of it. If none is found then full HRT will be done. But there are so many other feelings are going on.

I had mine at 37. Went into full menopause at 39. Here I am at 45 taking estrogen. It sucks

I was told by an ob/gyn many years ago that even just a tubal can cause hormone issues causing a need for bc/hrt.

Trauma and stress can set off autoimmune disease… I wonder if there are any that could have done that.
