Beautifully spoken, Alice. I have a few Dianna's in my life who went down the same path. I recognized the same look in your eyes before you uttered a word as I'm sure make will. these places still exist and could be reopened at any point to confine more people deemed "mentally unwell" in society, and I fear that's where we're headed.

My friends sister also ended her life and she suffered with mental issues most of her life. we have a long ways to go in this area.

Thank you for the personal message. You are a wonderful person! As I grew older I discovered that every group of people encountered had their own beliefs and mores' that could be shaped into a tool or weapon of acceptance. So important to realize that grief in one group could change to embrace in another. Alzheimer or dementia must have been a cruel fate in old days given that currently it can be so disturbing. You always have a successful recipe to educate, entertain and touch deep inside. You don't always know that. Each posting is a guided tour down a rabbit hole. Thanks so much for being an enlightened human being. When I pass away I intend to take the greatness of what I have encountered. My memories of you will certainly be with me when I go.
