@kimberlycfimbres: We are about 6 months out before buying a car and we are starting the process now. You should not be going to the dealership and buying a car that same day without understanding and weighing your options first 🤗 #buyingacar #financialfreedom #zerobasedbudgeting #budgetfriendly #financialliteracy #rav4hybrid #hondacrv
Huge Honda fan! I always end up buying certified pre-owned for the price, extended warranty, and often the same features as the new models.
That being said, SOME Toyota dealerships offer a lifetime powertrain warranty that I have yet to see Honda have.

My friend works at Toyota! Go semi-used! Certified at Toyota! You get more for your money in the long run. Give a down payment that gets you to a very comfortable payment as that will impact your life for a few years until you are done paying it. Share with us on what you end up doing! I will do the same in a maybe 2 yrs🥹praying my used car lasts me 2 more years

I have a 2025 CRV and love it! I got a great interest rate because I bought new and was in a simlar situation of how much I put down. The payment is super affordable and I love car overall. I had the same debate on getting new vs lightly used and the interest rates on the new were so much better.

Bro you literally have a 2010 Toyota that has 5 years left. I bought my 04 Toyota Camry 8 years ago for $4k and I’m still driving it. For me I’m upgrading finally but I never had a car payment and don’t want one. I’m looking at a Lexus is 350 for $53k otd or a Camry se 2025, personally I want something I see myself driving for 10 plus years and that is the Lexus so I’m saving $15k-$18k for a down payment hopefully by November. The only issue is that even with $15k down on the Lexus my payment is $700 for 60 months so for now I save and invest

LOVE MY RAV4 I’ve had multiple Camrys but the love I have for my RAV4🥰 semi used is almost the same price as new so new is better they are redesigning for 2026 so maybe at the end of the year they’ll have good discounts?

My 2018 Mazda has been great to me! When I can afford a car payment and need a new car will definitely go with Mazda again.

Pitching a 3rd car as an option. The Mazda CX-5. It’s a similar size SUV with really good reliability ratings. Mazda does zero percent interest financing at special events (think holidays) so if you qualified for that, it might make sense to keep your down payment and have your money do work for you instead.

I was also debating between both a year ago and ultimately went with CRV because it felt more updated and had better features. Keyless entry was a nonnegotiable for me

no down payment. keep your money invested or earning interest. the problem w used CRV and Rav4 is you don't get enough of a discount for used- near me 3 year old Rav4 w 30k miles are only $2500 less than new. why take the risk of unknown maintenance history for so little savings

Honestly my wife and I just bought a sienna and put down like 45k of the 55k cost and it’s going to save us like 9k in interest if we had just made the payments per the loan. If you can put alot down do it. The interest savings are massive

Both great cars. CRV a lil roomier but Rav4 built a bit better and last a bit longer. The 2026 is coming out, all hybrid and will have more HP & Torque so may be worth waiting to test one out before making your decision.
