You’re too busy to visit, too drained to call, and when you finally get time, she’s upset that you’re spending it with your mom instead of her. Over time, you get used to the distance, and she makes sure it stays that way. 🚩She Uses Emotional Blackmail – If you push back and try to reconnect with your mom, she’ll play the “you’re hurting me” card. Tears, silent treatment, or accusations—she’ll do whatever it takes to make you feel guilty for wanting a relationship outside of her control. She does all this to weaken your support system. The more isolated you are, the easier you are to manipulate. And the worst part? You don’t even realize it’s happening until the damage is done.
