Definitly stay away from the Cheerleader bar and that specific area in Ryogoku.. that was the only time we EVER felt unsafe in Japan. Their reviews are all AI and faked, and we were watched by what we assumed were bouncers of sorts when we were questioning them about what exactly they did there... very very very not right. (all the lights were blacked out too)

If you’re an American and you go to shinjuku check out Eddy’s bar not far from the batting cages its owned by a japanese dude who lived in america for a few years and its decorated like an american dive bar and eddys a great dude

there was one club in shibuya that had the bouncer trying to get me in, went to the club I wanted to go and looked at reviews if the other place and just saw countless reviews of personal belongings being stolen
