I showed her how it works… and it was the most important step we took teaching our 3-year-old how to pedal bike. 🚲 Something wasn’t clicking the morning we set out to teach her. Until I showed her how it worked. I got her off her bike, flipped it over, and showed her how it worked mechanically and talked about scenarios. This is what we went over: ✨How the pedals turn the chainring that turns the wheel ✨How fast the wheel spins if we turn the crank fast or slow. ✨How when a tiny hand squeezes the brakes it grabs the wheels so it stops turning ✨How to react in a fall and “stop yourself” if you can’t manage the brake in a fall. ✨How woom has a steering limiter so her handlebars won’t spin out of control ✨How her seat adjusts so we can lower it way down so she can her feet on the ground to feel more stable. As we chatted I saw her mind and enthusiasm to pedal light up. I think understanding helped her feel empowered and safe. It was the first and most important step in building her pedaling confidence. We did this at 4 PM. By sunset, she was a pedaler, shouting, “Mama, I pedaled!” When our kids upgraded to bikes with gears and shocks, we did the same thing and each time it’s been a game changer. Thank you @woom bikes for making bikes FOR kids that parents trust. Message me for a special discount code. Here are the features we look for when investing in a safe, reliable kids bike: * Lightweight Design: Super lightweight, making them easy for kids to maneuver. * Kid-Centric Design: Every detail, from proportions to brakes, is built specifically for kids to make learning intuitive and fun. * High Quality and Durable: Built to last, surviving multiple kids while staying in great shape. The resale value makes the investment worth it. * Smooth Riding Experience: The lightweight frame and well-balanced geometry make for a smoother, more enjoyable ride that boosts confidence. * Brakes That Are Kid-Friendly. * Safety Features: Steering limiter, stable geometry, and full-coverage helmets that protect little foreheads and give peace of mind. #learningtobike #kidsonbikes #bikefamily #litterriders #enjoytheride
