Almost 5 years ago, Ryan and I left Canada. Hundreds of people reached out. Thousands commented. “How did you do it?” “I want to leave too.” But that decision wasn’t really made in two weeks. It was made 10 years before that, the day we decided we were going to build a life that gave us options and made us mobile no matter what. Over time technology has made this even easier. We didn’t wait for a crisis to start building options. We built the option first, so that when the moment came, the only thing left to decide was when. We told every single person who reached out the same thing: we took our lumps, we paid our dues, we sacrificed for what we wanted, and it would only get harder to leave the longer they waited. Most didn’t move. I’ve stayed connected with a lot of those same people over the last 5 years. The desperation in their voice hasn’t gone away. It’s gotten louder. Here’s the proof that it wasn’t just us being dramatic. Gad Saad, a professor who’s spent years speaking publicly about free speech, recently posted that he’s finally leaving Quebec. Two reasons. Taxation that made it nearly impossible to build real wealth and a safety concern for his family that had been building for years. Then he found out the exit tax alone would cost him 10+ years of additional work to make the money he saved back. He said it himself: “I’m genuinely numb. I’m speechless.” That’s not a guy who waited too long on purpose. That’s what happens when the door gets heavier every year you don’t walk through it. And he’s not alone. Departures from Canada hit a 10 year high in 2024. Canada just recorded its first ever year over year population decline. Entrepreneurs are leaving before they even build the wealth that would get taxed on the way out, because by the time you’re successful enough to leave, leaving costs more. The two reasons people run for the exits, every time: the tax system eating what they build, and a business and political climate that no longer feels stable enough to build in. Sound familiar? This isn’t about Canada. It’s about every decision you’ve been sitting on because “now” doesn’t feel like the right time. The cost of waiting doesn’t stay flat. It compounds. The exit gets more expensive. The fear gets louder. The window gets smaller. You already know what you’ve been waiting on. The only thing waiting guarantees is that it’ll cost you more later than it would right now. So which is it. Do you keep waiting for the door to get heavier, or do you walk through it while you still can? If you’re ready to stop waiting, you know where to find me.
Ủa rồi cuối cùng ai suy?? #xuhuong #xhtiktok #share #fypシ #hat
