@evelynmarietta: SUPER Giant Elephant Toothpaste with 50% Hydrogen Peroxide Watch me make a mega foam volcano using 50% hydrogen peroxide and potassium iodide. ✨The iodide acts like a speed-up button, breaking hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) into water and oxygen gas almost instantly. The soap traps the oxygen into a mountain of bubbles, and the reaction releases heat, so the foam comes out warm! ⚠ Professional-Only Version (what we used): • 100 ml 50% hydrogen peroxide (industrial grade) • A good squirt of soap gel • A few drops of food coloring • ~10 ml saturated potassium iodide solution (catalyst) ⚠ SAFETY: • Highly corrosive & releases irritating vapors • Open all windows if indoors • Wear goggles, gloves, and lab coat • Keep kids/pets far away • In our case, all windows open + I stepped far far away with Emma right after mixing ✅ Kid-Safe Version (3% hydrogen peroxide) • 1 cup (240 ml) 3% hydrogen peroxide (pharmacy grade) • 2–3 tbsp dish soap • Food coloring • 1 tbsp dry yeast + 3 tbsp warm water (activator) • Mix yeast with warm water, then pour into peroxide/soap bottle → FOAM PARTY! ✨ Emma’s takeaway: Catalysts are like speed boosters for chemical reactions but some are for the lab, and some are for the kitchen!
