@ladyspinedoc: Replying to @nonononono Case Study 190 - Psoriatic Arthritis Psoriatic arthritis is an inflammatory joint condition linked to psoriasis, an autoimmune skin disease. It can cause joint pain, stiffness, and swelling—often in the spine, fingers, or toes—and may lead to long-term joint damage if untreated. Unlike osteoarthritis, it’s driven by immune system overactivity, and it can flare unpredictably. Early diagnosis is key to preventing irreversible changes and preserving mobility. #PsoriaticArthritis #AutoimmuneDisease #CaseStudy190 #JointHealth #SpineCare #Rheumatology #BackPain #AutoimmuneAwareness #WomenInMedicine #LadySpineDoc #SundayCaseStudy

My doctors thought I had ankylosing spondylitis but nothing has shown on the mri other than widespread arthritis. My daughter was just diagnosed with psoriasis. Now I think I have psoriatic arthritis. I am positive for HLA-b27

Loosing weight seems like an interesting blanket statement to me. How much should someone weigh to be considered thin enough for the symptoms to be considered “ disease only” and not weight related? Or do you just keep telling them to loose weight?

as someone with newly diagnosed with plaque psoriasis, i think this topic is not discussed enough! It took me almost four years to get diagnosed with psoriasis and I’ll definitely make sure to discuss this with my doctor!

I was diagnosed with this 11 years ago. Still trying to find a med that works without causing major side effects. Haven’t had psoriasis since I was a child. This came along years later.

My mum has psoriasis. I don’t have rashes but I’ve recently had my ESR checked and it’s high along with fatigue and joint pain. Can someone have psoriatic arthritis without presenting with the rashes?

im on Sulfasalazine for suspected spondylitis. my rheumatologist still isnt sure which one. it helps lessen the flare time, I see big difference in my feet and hands. however I just got microdiscectomy and my flare has been pretty bad. im hoping this helps confirm his diagnosis...all my labs normal besides my crp. crazy thing is thats its a lil high but I feel pain 10xs worse. im still using walking aids but mostly cause my hip issues. however flare days I can barley move. messed up thing is my oldest son has low bk pain n developed Psoriasis on his hands n head. Dr thinks we caught his early and won't be as bad, like me. definitely hurts n if this isnt the worse I dont wanna know what worse is.

Guttate Psoriasis since 4 years old. First back surgery at 19. Diagnosed finally at 35 with psoriatic arthritis. Absolutely miserable now. My spine is a mess. Two fusions over the years. My tendons in numerous joints needed re-attachment. 53 years old and they are concerned for paralysis eventually but work full time till I can’t anymore. Thank God for doctors who finally understand this disease.
