I'm tactful in most situations, but once I worked in an office with a guy who had B.O so bad he made peoples eyes water. Nobody would say anything, so I sprayed him with deodorant as he walked in one night and told him he stunk...sort it out. Sometimes the direct approach is best

my mother drilled it into me too always ALWAYS say thank you and be appreciative of a gift no matter what. One Christmas, my grandmother gave me a CD that I already had. I said thank you, said it was great because now I had the same CD in blue AND in yellow. later my mom asked me why I didn't say anything when I got a CD I already had. I don't know what the right answer is to this day

If I didn’t like what someone was wearing , I would respond the same way as Richard , not everyone has the same fashion sense , and if I don’t like what they are wearing that’s ok as long as they do ! but that doesn’t mean I don’t always find it easy not to say what I think , it’s got me into a lot of trouble 😂

there is a massive difference between direct and rude. direct is not dancing/talking around the point or subject, without being rude or insulting. being direct is not an excuse to not consider others feelings

Received a toy monkey from a grandparent when I was about 10, I asked what they expected a 10yr old to do with that and said I would rather they got me a toy gun. Don’t even take the monkey out of their hands and just walked off

Can we schedule a week where all of society speaks directly? It can be the christmas/NY time so fewer people end up fired but I think if everyone just tried it for a week the world would be a much better place.

I raised my son to be 100% honest with me and I don't care if it sounds rude because I asked. We also don't ask questions if we don't want an honest answer. If I ask how I look, he had better tell me exactly what it looks like to him because if I realize it's bad while I'm out then I'll be mad he lied. I also taught him to be tactful with other people because not everyone is like me and they may take offense, even if they asked. Being direct is expected in my house.
