@aviationhighlights: This is the world’s only airworthy Consolidated PB4Y-2 Privateer. Based on the successful B-24 Liberator, the Privateer was designed specifically as a long-range patrol-bomber for the US Navy. Originally designated as the PB4Y-2, the Privateer was redesignated as the P4Y-2 in 1951 when the navy dropped the patrol-bomber role. The type then went on to serve with the US Coast Guard until 1958. Out of the 700+ built, serial no. 66302, now registered as N2871G, is the only flying example remaining anywhere in the world.
