Is this some private school stuff ? Because I don’t think I ever got the sense my teachers were at all interested in their pupils 😂 possibly 1 or 2 hyper extrovert girls, but for most you might as well go visit a stranger.

came back as a sub 5 years after I left and my old head of year put me in isolation and got the isolation teacher to cover the classes I was supposed to be covering for the week 💀

My daughter barely spoke to any of her teacher but they all rushed over to her asked how she was ( in primary school when she went up to high school ) and every week they ask her sisters how she is and she left 4 years ago bless them.
