38 and 6 days today at my appointment and I requested the membrane sweep if I was dilated enough. Dr said I was 1-2cm and 50% but she tried to sweep anyway just to see if it works. I’m hoping he comes before our scheduled C-section next Tuesday but if not I’m fine

My Dr with my first son did a membrane sweep without my consent as well. I was going to ask about it anyway, but I definitely didn’t appreciate him doing it without my knowledge. He didn’t even tell me he did it until I asked about it.

I don’t remember ever being asked about a membrane sweep.. I never even heard of it .. I would have said something to the doctor.. that’s not ok

I think this happened today, they did a cervical check but it was the most painful thing ever none of my other cervical checks where bad. And now I’m cramping and spotting.

when I hear these experiences from other expecting mama's I think its crazy, it makes me super grateful for the OB and Midwife I was paired with cause they tell me everything they are about to do and always give me any advice when I ask!

That happened to me yesterday I asked my Dr mind you at the clinic it’s not a permanent Doctor their always changing and I asked for cervical exam & then she told me she done a sweep membranes and i was like okay n i also want to go into labor on my own im 39+5 n they might induce me if i don’t start dilating

I'm 36 weeks and the other day I went in to get checked with contractions, and the doctor did a stretch and sweep without consent and without telling me. it's medical rape, it's not okay at all!

I'm 37+5 but I have GD so we're trying to get things going before my due date, and I requested it, but I was about a 1.5 but just enough for my ob to get her tiny finger in there. lol a membrane sweep is a hit or miss. if your body and baby isn't ready it probably won't do anything.
