I mean shoot, if you wanna pay me for 66 hour work weeks then yah I’d do it, but if im getting my 40 hour pay, not a chance. We don’t value that as much anymore. You may hate it, but we value life and family and living now, not just work

I understand that you guys are a commission based company but having said that you gotta make time to disconnect from work. Striving for that ever elusive golden egg is pointless if you're burning yourself out mentally/physically needing to work excessively.

working on the weekends is fine and is needed for some industries. the important things for a work life balance is having days off and using them to relax and if you get called in becuase someone called out say no with in reason. I work nights and on my days off I have a rule if they call me before noon then I'll gladly work it but if its after 12pm then its a hard pass.

and I will further say that no one on their deathbed said damn I wish I would have clocked into work one more time. no, rather they talk about all the regrets of things I didn't do with their family. because they were too busy striving for the golden carrot at work

I did that when I was young. I think that’s why you feel like that, Kolin. I am achievement oriented and people like me do mesh work with life. It’s how we are wired. But, now that I am old - I have had to reorient my life. Priorities change because you are closer to the end of life than the beginning and you see life differently.
