@channelnewsasia: Train service was disrupted on the North East Line between Farrer Park and Punggol Coast MRT stations on Tuesday (Aug 12) due to a power fault, transport operator SBS Transit said. It added that Sengkang-Punggol LRT service was also unavailable. In one video circulating on social media, passengers were seen disembarking a stalled train and walking on the tracks. When CNA was at Boon Keng Station at about 11.20am, passengers were told by a security guard on ground level that no trains were running. Meanwhile, stationary trains were also seen waiting at Boon Keng and Woodleigh stations in the direction of Punggol Coast. #singapore #sgnews
Looking at the bright side, at least got the experience to walk inside the tunnel 😄

So what did the 40% increment in salaries and bonuses for SMRT management did for performance? A better crafted excuse?

what is wrong with this train's stoppages, I can understand if it happens in Germany, France or any other country due to the scale of the network and the presence of saboteurs. But in Singapore, where security is 24/7, 360° and 365??? Is there an inherent issue within the component level?? or is the procurement of core components and service is lacking watertight checks and balances??
With the amount of funds poured into this critical infrastructure, I strongly believe that the system should be able to run like a JR line with Tokyo southern region.
