I would always keep a grass type with Stun Spore, Sleep Powder, etc for catching new Pokémon. Other than that, I want to see death occurring.

Burned pokemon do 1/2 physical damage. Paralyzed Pokémon have 1/2 speed. Badly poisoned stacks each turn. Sleep/Freeze = free turns. Confusion causes the user to hit themselves for their attack stat (meaning if they boost in your face they have a chance to take themselves out)
