I do this at every networking event, conference, and convention, etc. I always add that I’m here alone. Yes, most always welcome me. It's a great way to make introductions and people will remember you. Most people are afraid to ask, so take the risk. Be the one that walks through the door of potential opportunities. It's a practice, like everything in life.
