As a person who worked his way up through construction while in school $75,000 should be the minimum these people make starting out. Pre-COVID, $75,000 was a lot of money. In today’s time, $75,000 is what $45,000 was 5 years ago. So yes, they should make 75K. They invested in themselves for 4+ years. This makes up for field experience.

This is happening right now at my full-time job hiring younger kids with no experience making way more than I am when I’ve been here for over 20 years … just been praying that the Lord will open doors so I can get my little landscaping business off the ground

Buddy that should be the min. I start at 80k at 18 in oil and gas and home every night. You people don’t wanna pay enough. Then complain when you can’t find “ people that wanna work”. Well maybe pay more and also start teaching the younger ones and no laugh at them. Huge reason people don’t even take a chance anymore on blue collar. I’m 26 now and wouldn’t work for less that 100k in this bullshit economy for hard labor if your experienced

My grandmother told me once a college degree will help open doors but when you walk through the door you have to bring value to your employer

I bet the dog even snickered 😁 school work is not a drop in the bucket compared to life experience , be it running equipment, farming, and just learning how to work around grown people . Money and respect is earned over time 👍

Own own company and a construction for 55 years I raise my son send him to college for two years he took business technology. I’ve had him working on my project since he was 16. He is 40 now working for a large refinery. They had to change the criteria of their engineering department to hire him and put him over all engineering. Without a engineering degree mainly because he had common sense

I think what’s even more concerning is how do you have people that have worked for you for 20 years that aren’t making more than $75k
