I had an x-ray done at the doctors, I’m 32 yrs old, grew up with a butter mom and athlete brother who got me into weights and working out in 6th grade- the Dr. asked if I worked out a lot and I told them yes…..they then showed me where my pelvis and femur bones had actually gotten denser (super bright white on the x-ray) from all of the weightlifting in my life and that I would thank myself for this in the future. ✨

Hi! Cardiac RN here and let me tell you….Ive got 60 year old patients who can’t wipe their own behind and 99 year old patients who run laps around the unit and it 95% boils down to lifestyle choices. Move more younger and you’ll likely stay independent older!

There is a direct correlation between muscle mass and overall health when we grow older. That is science.

Yup. Weightlifting for strength and bone density, pilates for core strength, yoga for the mental health and mobility, and cardio for the heart. I do all of these intentionally.

I work in a salon and we have women come in weekly because they can not physically wash and style their hair, and can barley walk in from the parking lot. it exhausts them. I never want to be like that.

I’m confused, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen multiple ads from Ladder saying if you do Pilates you’ll get rid of your pouch belly…

Let me tell you, as a 48yo woman, comparing how I feel at 48, to my mom (who has never done strength training) at 48, is a night and day difference.

Makes me sad how Pilates is being marketed. Pilates helped me learn how to control which muscles to use when exerting myself, including when doing other forms of exercise.

Ugh my moms on ozempic for diabetes and while it’s been huge in helping her, she’s all bones now and I just worry as she continues to age what’s going to happen. My dad HUGGED her and broke her rib 🙃

Wait I don’t understand, is Pilates bad? Like I walk a lot, running and do some stretches and then I do Pilates.
