Danielle Spencer was an American actress and veterinarian, best known for her role as Dee Thomas on the ABC sitcom What’s Happening!! (1976–1979) and its sequel What’s Happening Now!! (1985–1988). Spencer began acting at age 11 when she was cast as Dee, the quick-witted younger sister of Raj (Ernest Thomas). Her sharp comebacks and scene-stealing moments made her a standout on the series and a fan favorite for generations. After her time in Hollywood, Spencer pursued a career in veterinary medicine, earning her degree and dedicating her life to caring for animals. She also became a motivational speaker, sharing her journey through childhood stardom, personal loss, and her recovery from a 1977 car accident that caused long-term health complications. In later years, she faced and publicly battled cancer, inspiring many with her faith and resilience. Spencer passed away in August 11 2025 at the age of 60.
