Exactly a year ago I got sepsis from a paper cut on my finger, almost lost my leg. That is how scary and bizarre sepsis is.

If you do anything in a gym, swimming pool, jujitsu, boxing, sauna, spa etc you have to be very weary of infection.

ladies, take ur UTIs seriously! urosepsis is so common, i see it allll the time as a nurse. as soon as you have symptoms, get antibiotics IMMEDIATELY. it can travel very fast.

my mum used to stop me from getting antibiotics as a kid so i could “learn to fight the infection” i’m lucky to be alive lol. and im a huge fan of antibiotics (when necessary)

My mom almost died from sepsis. She laid down the night before not feeling well. My dad just happened to be home that next day from work and insisted she go to the hospital and if he hadn’t been home to do that, she probably would have unalived in her bed.

Doctors are also horrendous at recognising sepsis too. It’s like a sleeper agent. So it’s a double whammy of you feeling horrendous for seemingly no reason and doctors not understanding why why you’re feeling horrendous and sending you home 😭

I have obsession with picking my cuticles, have small infections basically every other day and health anxiety. I thought it was almost impossible to get sepsis from those but clearly not😭
