@blackandasiansoulsunite1: Part of my mission involves addressing misconceptions head-on. In May, a post by @bestosamwonyi highlighted an incident where two Black men were allegedly denied entry to a Chinese restaurant due to their race. 🤦🏽‍♀️ However, upon closer inspection, the restaurant was empty, and it was clear that they were in the midst of a break between lunch and dinner service. Many Asian restaurants operate on a schedule that includes a closure for lunch preparation ex(10:30am-2:30pm open for brunch) then close for their own lunch and also prep for dinner time then reopen around 5pm), which is a common practice. Additionally, they pointed out there were Asian individuals inside sitting down eating, I’m 175% sure they were staff members on their break, further indicating that the restaurant was not discriminating based on race because again NO ONE else was in the restaurant eating and the tables weren’t even prepped. It frustrates me when misinformation spreads, often fueled by rage bait. those restaurants usually host weddings or party's during dinner time so theres a turnover from lunch to dinner. also the people you see eating are the staff eating before they start the dinner shift.

Literally every big chinese place in nyc does this. they serve dim sum from 10 to 3 and then closed until 5 or 6pm for dinner service
