Set up at cone about 2 to 3 feet away from the barrel on the left side when you come in stop at the cone and then trot around the barrel helps show the rider and the horses where there pocket should be

I dont know if you want advice to get a bit better but center her up and make your pocket for the first. As you start to turn put your inside leg into her. Keep your eyes up and look at 2nd. Straighten up again going to 2nd, make your pocket and inside leg into her again while your eyes are up and looking at 3rd. Straighten up for 3rd make your pocket and inside leg again. Eyes up and look at something on the way home!

What I do is I have a different bit for barrels English jumping and western and that’s how my horses tell what event we are doing

Noodles great job! This is giving Ember something new to have fun at. The 2nd barrel after the talk with mom was so much better. Have you tried her starting the barrels to the left? Some horses do better the other way. Just a thought. Have fun! 💜

Homesteading in Idaho :
Having that ranch start on Ember is going to make barrel racing SO nice on her. She knows how to bend, she knows cues, she's soft and supple.

Have her canter to the barrels and stop at each. Then widen the pocket at the first cause it could help her set up for the second.

I had a mare that did huntseat, wp and barrels. She loved all the change ups, doing hs in the am classes and barrels at night. She knew her gear, and you could feel and see her excitement when her barrel bag came out. I would suggest barrel gear to help her know the difference🥰 not trying to be pushy or tell you what to do, but having ‘speed gear’ is helpful

Noddles🥰Ember smooth team 👏🏻 just follow her shoulder through the barrel on the second barrel. Push your outside foot forward and she'll pull her self into the barrel. you'll feel her lift her shoulders 🤗once you get to doing pole bending Ember 's gonna be a good all-around Horse yall
