people really can't grasp that the main characters being Nearly SA'D and abused by aliens dressed as business men is commentary on the real world and works with the themes of the story. about trauma and how letting kids fight adult's battles leads to consequences.

Dan Da Dan takes every genre and topic that is weird or uncomfortable, rolls it all together, and through some alchemy, makes it work. The director is doing an amazing job with the adaptation

I absolutely hate the attempted SA of the female main character because it's so unnecessary. because otherwise it's like my favorite anime I've ever watched. it's such a great blend of funny but heartwarming, silly but serious
