‼️CONING/DOMING‼️ Different things can cause this to happen, and while abdominal separation is inevitable during pregnancy, you CAN do things to manage it and make sure that coning/doming doesn’t happen during these various activities. —— Why is it important to prevent the coning/doming? That coning/doming is feedback from your core telling you that there’s an increase in pressure within your abdomen that your core isn’t managing properly. The more coning/doming you see, the more that pressure is potentially harming your lines alba connective tissue (this holds your abs together). A weak linea alba that you’re unable to manage/control can lead to back pain, pelvic pain, incontinence issues, etc. —— Learning how to properly engage your core and manage the pressure within your abdomen is KEY to preventing this coning/doming from happening. I have a ton of resources on my page, walking you through HOW to properly engage your core, if this is something you need help with! My Core Strength program is also designed exactly for this if you want more structured guidance! —— Some quick tips to get started: Start with a deep inhale breath. Exhale and gently close/lift your pelvic floor as if it’s an arcade claw machine game that you’re pulling up toward your belly button. As you do so, make a “tss” noise through closed teeth as you feel the lower part of your abdomen (TVA muscle) engage. Deliberately pull those muscles in around you as you also imagine “zipping” those muscles, from bottom to top, like you’re putting on a tight pair of jeans. At the end of your exhaled breath, pull the front of your ribcage down so it’s stacked directly above your pelvis. —— Whether you are currently pregnant, newly postpartum, wanting to become pregnant in the future, or never even plan on becoming pregnant… everyone is susceptible to coning/doming so learning HOW to engage your core, WHEN to engage it, and how to MANAGE the pressure in your abdomen will be one of the best tools you could learn! —— @Oner Active @KrissyCela #prenatalfitness #pregnancyexercise #pregnancyworkout
