My doctor asked if I had been in the hospital for anything in the past year and I said no….while holding my 7 month old baby 😂😂

My dental form asked and so I put my hysterectomy and the hygienist first gaslit me telling me that’s not what a c section is and then cornered me insisting to know what Dr sterilized me so young 🙄 like I didn’t have insane endometriosis, a severe bicornuate uterus and precancerous endometrial cells. I was so traumatized I’ve never been back to that practice

I always mention the c section but I get told 90% of the time “oh that doesn’t count” so I try to be honest but it’s discouraging to be told that “like yes them cutting through 7 layers of tissue and moving my internal organs to access a baby in me isn’t surgery ok”(heavy on the sarcasm for those who missed it)

Anytime I list all my surgeries from wisdom teeth to c sections I get a comment about how one doesn’t count. So then I leave it off at the next apt and that nurse is confused how it didn’t count to the nurse before that. You guys need to decide😆🤣

I had my son by c section Friday at 1:05am and was discharged on Saturday evening lol so I completely forget it was surgery! It was made to seem like no big deal

Why do providers need to know this? I get why an obgyn would but why they ask at every kind of doctors office. I always feel silly listing C-section at like a dermatologist for example lol.

Lmao after my c section my husband was instructed to pull the car around and I had to push my child in the car seat / stroller and walk all the way down to the elevators and down to the road. No wheelchair for me 😅

I told them about my c-section and they just said, “Anything surrounding pregnancy and childbirth doesn’t count.” Like, how does my wisdom teeth being removed count but having a whole baby cut out of me doesn’t???

It’s easy to forget it’s a surgery when you’re awake the whole time, they hand you a baby and no pain medication, and send you out on your own asap.

It’s bc it’s the only major surgery that gets downplayed. Women who have had csections (I’ve had 2) get hardly any after care or support therefore it’s hard to see it as a surgery bc nobody really cares about us

When I had knee surgery this year they brushed off my c section and asked more questions when I brought up my tonsil removal as a child… I assumed it was for anesthesia reaction purposes 🫠

C-sections are 100% a major surgery. They are literally a surgical delivery. The only reason they let women stay awake is because they try to pretend like it's all cute and natural when it's just like any other major surgery.
