This year’s Guelaguetza was born from resistencia Oaxaqueña. Cancellations, fear, and uncertainty tried to silence us, but we are the children of warriors, and we do not disappear. When obstacles blocked our way, we pushed through. Dancers became stage crews, musicians became organizers, madres y padres became protectors, jóvenes became leaders. We built this celebration with our own hands because our traditions are not for sale, and our identity is not negotiable. What drives us is comunidad, coming together, face to face, corazón con corazón. In the stomping fuerza of La Danza de la Pluma, the vibrant skirts of Las Chinas Oaxaqueñas, the elegance of Flor de Piña, the playful rhythm of Los Diablos, and the deep soul of La Sandunga, we find our strength. We cannot and will not live in fear. This Guelaguetza is proof that even in the hardest times, Oaxaca no se rinde. We will dance, we will sing, and we will pass this fire to the next generation, porque nuestra raíz es profunda y nadie la arranca.
