Demonstrating the government’s efforts to improve the lives of Filipino families through the provision of shelter, PBBM, leads the inauguration and awarding of new house and lot units at St. Barts Southville Heights in Barangay San Bartolome, San Pablo City, Laguna on 15 September 2025. Funded through the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) Trust Fund, this PhP769 million housing project was developed for informal settler families (ISFs) affected by the implementation of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) South Long Haul (SLH) Project – Segments 2 to 7. Construction began in November 2023 and was completed in June 2025, benefiting a total of 1,099 families. Each unit is a row house built on a 40.50-square-meter lot with a total floor area of 27.35 square meters. Land development includes concrete road networks with sidewalks, curbs, gutters, an underground reinforced concrete pipe culvert drainage system, Level III individual water service connections, and individual Meralco power connections. Underscoring the National Housing Authority’s (NHA) commitment to sustainability and accessibility through integrated community facilities, the St. Barts Southville Heights Housing Project includes ongoing construction of a three-storey elementary school with 15 classrooms, a two-classroom daycare center, multi-purpose covered court with training area, wet and dry market (talipapa), health center, livelihood training center, tricycle terminal, material recovery facility (MRF) and community police action building. The site also features a retention pond, a land marker, and a main entrance gate to ensure safety and orderliness within the community.
