If they were more open to foreigners and youth, and women etc. Something really cool could happen.

So Japan doesn't like immigrants and It wants to turn into another Donald Trump country as the far right is rising in Japan. As the population gets older and there are not enough people to take care of them. It looks like Japan's going to be wiped out. 🤔🤔🤔

There’s nothing wrong with declining population. For years, we’ve been told blowing human population is a problem , depleting resources. now its declining, what is the problem?isnt this the goal?

I don’t understand, they don’t have employees? If the employ 70% of people then people work there right?

Genuine question in regards to this. Is this partially because these older owners are not retiring quick enough that their kids have already moved on to another career and accepted that they won’t own anything until they are already into their 30s-40s needing some form of income. And is it possible that this is a problem due to the lack of making daughters a successor of a family business as Japan is still traditional in the sense of family legacy through the sons exclusively.

Yes, lost a few good restaurants around my place because of this. The country side is also draining empty. I drove through Shimane prefecture last year. So many empty shops.

It kinda makes sense in the long-term. The population is plummeting and they'll need less businesses for less people in the next generation. Better to close while still profitable.

If the company was worth inheriting, people would be in line. Just bc they are a little profitable doesn’t mean anyone wants to take it over.

People need to understand that Japan is not a communist country where private capital is banned. Nor is it a socialist country where small private capital is allowed. And that private capital is under strict state control.
Japan is a democratic country ruled by large private capital. If you start with small private capital, you have to strengthen and expand. Because that is the point of democracy.
