Only reason I'm in M12 is because of the ratchet, otherwise I'm a Ridgid fanboy

omg an 18v tool beat a 12v tool no way. m12s are lighter with plenty of power to do most jobs that's the argument for them at almost the same pace like maybe 30seconds longer in a day for some 2 inch screws. plus you can have 1 of each on 1 charger till you get most of the special chargers or the exclusive m12 ones

Only reason I got into M12 was the heated jacket. As far as the tools go their power is amazing but the battery life still continues to be their biggest hamper

They both have pros and cons. I use my m12 fuel with a 2.0 battery to keep it small and light and it's nice when I have to carry it around all day. But if I was gonna stick to one battery platform the M18 compact brushless would be good as well

I'm not a huge fan of M12 line but one of the good things about M12 batterys is the Milwaukee M18 chargers do support the. So if I were to get say a more compact oscillating tool or a caulking gun I would consider an M12 tool. I'd considered them even more if Milwaukee ever come up with a lightweight M12 framing nailer.

The only reason you would buy a M12 is for a convenience of moving it around but if you actually need a tool for long-term work you go M18 that's it I know there's some tradesmen who are going to be disagreeing with me on that and get you that's but that's why M18 is starting to include a lot of those trade-specific tools their line as well

Till you want tools that are only in the m12 battery. If I want a ratchet or right angle die grinder or right angle impact have to go m12. I think if your a normal diy guy maybe but if you do a lot of automotive work you need to with some m12.

I'm more confused they're both Milwaukee's? One small battery and the other one is a regular small drill battery?

Yeah seeing as I have both M18 and M12 lines, the M12’s are always the go to platform.

My only issue in Milwaukee needs more durability and more torque because if I'm paying that price I better have premium power and quality durability for that price

As a technician, M12 is the correct platform for me as I’m usually just fastening stuff here and there. I suppose if I was in construction I would definitely want the M18. Also them M18 batteries are expensive 😶‍🌫️

So no. It’s not like I’m buying into it for all my work, it’s just a convenience for having access to to smaller lightweight tools when the m18 is over kill and over powered and over weight for all day use

The amount of force pushing down on a screw doesn't increase the speed at which it will drive through the wood.
