lived in Canada my entire life and only seen them in zoos. no interest in meeting one in the wild. have hiked all over BC and Alberta and only heard one (did not see it) once. it cried out on was on a path ahead of us in dense woods. we turned around and hightailed it as fast as we could back to the car. exit stage right. 😬

Minnekhada park in Port Coquitlam usually has lots of black bears on the trails and on the drive in 😃
