I remember working for a robotics company, and offered to start fixing their old PCBs. One of the electrical engineers told me they didn’t know you could repair the traces and didn’t believe me at first due to a lack of an electrical engineering degree on my side. They threw out thousands of dollars worth of boards.

question, why bother making a pad out of the jumper wire? why not just fly wire it to the top of the lead?

how do you learn to do this? ive done some minor soldering but not good. I recently broke my wifi card slot on my laptop and decided to just buy a usb adapter but this would be awesome to know 😭

how do yall get these plastic chips down without melting then? I was replacing a lcd connector on my switch oled and melted 5 of them before I gave up. it turned black before the solder even started to melt.
