question, why bother making a pad out of the jumper wire? why not just fly wire it to the top of the lead?

Nice job but the track needs more wire as now it is thinner. And it acts as a fuse.

how do yall get these plastic chips down without melting then? I was replacing a lcd connector on my switch oled and melted 5 of them before I gave up. it turned black before the solder even started to melt.
