@postscriptwithrefilwe: @Nedbank dropping R1.65 BILLION to buy @iKhokha 🚀 South Africa’s banking landscape is shifting. Nedbank is acquiring iKhokha for R1.65 billion in an all-cash deal, keeping the brand and leadership in place. iKhokha, a Durban-based fintech, processes over R20 billion annually and has provided R3 billion in SME funding. #southafrica #southafricatiktok #southafricatiktok🇿🇦 #mzansitiktok #mzansi #fintech #finance #money #shares #bank #banking #founder #investing #investor
They are buying it to remove it from their way. The same what Heineken did when they bought Soweto to eliminate it.

Yoco has always been the better option. Used both at my former business, started with Ikhoka and ended up with Yoco

This deal is too tricky as ikhokha had a relationship with Tymebank through their loan platform, I just wonder how this will go

100%…!!! Even my greed wouldn’t allow me to sell so much. Who sells their entire business? Nedbanks move is about strategic control. Full control makes it easier to adapt the product to match their brand and operational standards without needing external approvals. Basically extending to market saturation. It will own and control all IP, even for future development. Eliminate potential competition, as it will strengthen cross-selling opportunities… Please explain to me how 100% makes sense. They basically kicked you out for GOOD! 🤷🏽♂️🤔
