While I agree with the statement and it is a concern modern gray face paint has actually gotten a lot later and a lot easier to use. hell , you don't even need as much sealant as you used to.

my favorite thing about homestuck is that it's an objectively bad piece of media that is so wrapped in this ethos of media superiority and an 8190 page count that it semi gaslights you into thinking it's GOOD. what i will say on the topic at hand is that modern homestuck fandom does have a lot less correlation to hellaverse fans then old homestuck fandom, it's moreso a grandparent (old homestuck) then a cousin situation i fear

Last year after the first season of Hazbin came out and all those videos of the fandom at cons being disruptive and acting like freaks came out I literally said out loud to my friends “this is going to be the new homestuck” and I hate being right
