I can’t believe I’m defending a man but the comments are really coming for this dudes neck. I went to Reddit to read the rest of his story and truly he’s just…lonely. He repeats how lonely he feels, he’s telling his wife how lonely he feels and she isn’t compromising with him on it on all. I think this part is cut off but she’s is going to miss the family vacation and their anniversary so she can go to some running events. Her hobby has taken bigger priority than her partner and that isn’t okay.

Triathlete and marathoner here w 2 kids and a professional career. He is jealous that she has a lot going on and she’s good at it all. My ex told me as much. He was even jealous of me walking the dog. He needs to grow up.

Sounds like he’s resentful towards her for enjoying her hobbies and she sounds like she might be afraid of losing herself. Either way…when you’re married you have to keep your identify BUT you also have to prioritize your family

She is literally and metaphorically running from herself. I know because I used to be like her and now have all the running injuries to prove it. She needs to be able to sit with herself do some healing and be present with the family. Kids grow up so fast you will never get that time back.

get a babysitter, 1x a week or 2x a month go out together and spend quality time. I go to bed at 8:30 pm bc I teach classes at 5 am. Don't quit your hobby, make time to prioritize each other outside of that.
