It’s simple. Millennials and boomers are lazy, ignorant, arrogant, and the worst employers. You can’t expect someone to work long hours for minimum wage. The bare minimum is acceptable. You want your employees to work more? Pay them more.

Change this to a BuzzFeed article in 2006 and replace Gen-Z will Millennials and you could repeat this entire argument over and over. Managing young, new workers is always difficult. Companies need to teach work ethic and policy, which means time and effort (and money)

Millennial Manager here. It's because they ask for alot and do little. I understand setting boundaries and a work life balance. Trust me I do as a younger Millennial. I get not wanting to work more than what you're asked to do. But they call off more than anybody else. Never pick up shifts when they ask for more hours. Are extremely lazy and do the bare minimum. You won't get ahead in life if you dont make any sort of sacrifices. I'm gonna sound like a "Boomer & Gen X" but my wife and I sacrificed alot for a few years. And worked over 50 hours a week for years to make sure we would be able to buy a house. Gen Z isn't willing to make any sacrifices to set themselves up for success a few years down the road. And the sacrifice is completely worth it in the long run. Having a paid off house before we turn 50 is an amazing relief.

I know plenty of gen z who don’t want to work and plenty who do. I also know plenty of boomers and millennials who are on benefits and have never worked in their life, we need to stop generalising. I do feel as if it’s more office staff than trades and industrial workers tho

As a millennial, I think a lot of them have self respect and won't allow themselves to be walked all over. Granted, there will be some gen z employees who are just awful, but that's true for every generation and isn't specific to their generation. My message to them is to keep doing what you're doing 🥰
