Plex and jellyfin don’t keep files organized into their franchises(marvel, dc, Star Wars, etc) they just dump all files into movies or individual seasons for tv shows

Is there a way to use an old desktop as your Android TV for example? We now have a MiBox4 which is ready to retire 😅

I did. But it’s just way easier to not-self-host. And often it’s not even cheaper.

I use one of those mini pcs for a media centre it does great hidden behind the TV without a problem running a server for 99% of my needs honestly i dont really use the net much
once I've bought Synology Nas and started self hosting I've realized that if something happens to my home network or power, I'm cutoff my self hosted services. so started moving my self hosted back to the cloud to use Nas as a backup only. so now I feel pretty dumb

I don't know man... :
in my homelab i hosted 6 vms on i5 6300u and 8gb ram
navidrom (Spotify replacement)
adgurd+playit.gg tunnel(vpn +bypassing cg-nat)
adgurd(local dns/ad blocker)
zabbix monitor server vm(to monitor all other vms
apt cache ng( speedup updates by caching them up to 5x speed
and a general docker vm for LLMs and stuff ( i ran ollama+openwebui although i need to turn all others off to afford the ram required but i managed to run deepseek-r1:7b)
all with only 7-15% cpu usage and 5 gb ram usage only(average)
