At a base level, Matt Rife doesn't make sense to promote makeup. He doesn't wear it. There are plenty of men who do wear makeup that would have made much more sense.

It didn't even take the DV joke to turn me off of Matt Rife. If you listen to most of his jokes, they're sexist in their undertones. It's very clear that he thinks women are below him. The DV one was just the most blatant and obvious of them. I don't but Elf often, but I def won't be now.

Why would Matt Rife do a makeup ad? He doesn't have any relation to makeup and he has actively distanced himself from women. Even if he didnt make a DV joke there's no reason to have Matt Rife of all men to do an ad with lol.

i feel that there two things can worth noting 1) that a lot of Matt Rife support comes from people who do not actually consume products from elf and 2) that elf used to stand out for their low prices that is no longer the case now
