You shouldn’t need to back that far in with a boat. Proper boat launching/loading the trailer should only be backed in far enough to just submerge the boat axle fenders. People often think they need to go deep with the trailer and you don’t have to. R

Is this 1952 or 2025 oil seals leaking? That happened on a 1952 Johnson 25 hp outboard in the lower unit, just replaced the seal it was 28 yo at the time. Anybody watch the movie Idiocracy?

Sometimes I feel like automotive will go the whole 9. Heavy duty we’d drain it and send it. Too expensive to replace if it’s still functional and not worth the down time. You’re saving the customer headaches down the road which is good.

The vent gets water in it from the car wash also. It's in or by the bed rail above the rear end housing

I believe it even says in the owners manual that if the rear differential gets submerged then the fluid must be changed

Backing in till the diff is underwater is not necessary. However if your going to do it extend the diff vent much higher up

Never back your vehicle into the water. I keep the axles from my boat trailer above the water level (but it’s small).

Owning a boat has nothing to do with water in the diff. You back the trailer in the water, not the truck. I bet that truck was mud bogged.
