I don’t think it’s gone to far. A lot of people are starting fires ones they are in the woods. That’s how it started in Bayers lake yesterday, someone started a fire in the woods at 32 degrees! Also there could be a fire in the woods and someone could get trapped.

It’s because the way he sees it. They’re trying to stop us from doing what we should be able to do. If you are walking in the woods with nothing on you. It should be fine to do that.

Look, most people arent gonna like this, but I think that this should stay AT LEAST until the wildfires season comes to an end. Most people smoke on their walks, and as soon as those ashes fall onto the dry grass, you can get where Im going. Nonetheless, extreme fines are crazy

unpopular opinion.. this ban is to make sure forests are protected .. there is no real way to determine who is who and what their motives are.. just respect what is asked and leave it alone.. like get a hobby instead if you need to occupy yourselves

It is somewhat amusing, it's like telling a child not to do something, only for them to be immediately compelled to do it. Jokes aside, some individuals are frustrated over restricted access to the woods, so what is your solution? Should firefighters focus their efforts on preventing and managing wildfires as they occur, while refraining from conducting rescue operations for individuals who knowingly disregard the risks. A simple google search: In Nova Scotia, approx. 97% of wildfires are caused by human activity and approx. 3% occur naturally.

For those whining about the Charter of Rights & Freedoms being infringed. Section 1 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms allows the government to place reasonable limits on mobility rights if those limits can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society. This allows them to enact the Forest Act which allows restrictions that you see be put in place. The manager of Forest Protections has clearly stated Nova Scotia has a 97% Wildfire rate caused by human activity, These statistics easily prove and justify these temporary restrictions.
