this my take on the message behind the song "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes"— a reflection on legacy and wondering who will carry on the good work of those who came before—can be found in the story of Joshua stepping into Moses’ place. Joshua faced the daunting challenge of filling big shoes, but God’s encouragement guided him: Joshua 1:9 (KJV) Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. This scripture is especially fitting because God acknowledges the size of the task and reassures Joshua (and all who inherit a legacy or big responsibility) that God’s presence and support are what enable us to “fill those shoes.” Additional relevant scriptures about legacy and leadership include: “Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.” — Hebrews 13:7 “A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children...” — Proverbs 13:22 These verses remind us that while we may wonder who will step up next, God always raises new leaders, and the greatest inheritance is often faith, example, and character passed on to the next generation. #trustinjesus #trustingod #sharethegospel #thekingdom #Godhasaplan
