Also dresses will vary by place! The dresses at the lovely bride in DC are definitely different from what they had available in the ATX store cause the clients lean towards different styles! And would definitely recommend going to a place like anthro or anywhere where your appointment is free with some girls and no expectations to dip your toes in get an idea of what to expect from shop! Everywhere is different but the process of trying on and going through dresses with an associate was very similar throughout

I did Dallas (lots of great stores! Lmk if you need recs!) and then ended up getting it from an international maker (tariffs - woof!) but they shipped it to me!

Yes, I got my dress where I got married. I found my in my first store and canceled my other appt. I have heard the more you try on the more confused you get on dresses. Also, a good boutique will send you a pre-appointment survey that pulls in the major things that you want to have a dress and then have like 4 pulled for that will strategically let you see quickly which things you theoretically liked vs on you. Also, it literally doesn’t matter where you go - go to the stores that have the designers you like. Shout out @Allison Webb I also wouldn’t want my dress too far away from me especially because you have a ton of fittings. Unless you find it in DC and then you don’t have to fly with it to DC for your wedding. You are going to look beautiful no matter what!! Number 1 rule: after you purchase it, don’t look at anymore dresses online, etc.!!! You have the one you are going to wear and you have other things to decide - coming from a fellow decision fatigue girlie

Also i shipped my to MN, mostly because I am getting married there and will be back multiple times for fittings and holidays BUT the sales associate was like if you ship it to a state with no sales tax that is a huge money saver!! So if Texas doesn’t have sales tax I would say ship there
