Lawyer here and this is not legal advice, just legal information lol. Have an attorney look into that life insurance policy. Every state is different, but where I’m located it doesn’t all go to the wife if the kids are not shared by both of them.

I would hire a lawyer and look into if there was an active life insurance or will in place when he passed. And if there was and she didn’t give you your piece, you can sue her for it.
