I work with many students who are on the spectrum and I work with many parents who wished their children didn’t have Autism. We definitely have a problem that needs to be solved.

the reason for increase in diagnosis is due to advances in testing, expansion in criteria, and a decrease in the stigma around autism.

In my opinion, it’s to the point that when you get a diagnosis, you get a check. That’s why the rate has grown.

Defo plastics, bad chemicals in food, being fed drgs which will supposedly ease conditions that eating cleaner can help without needing harsh drgs. Letting young kids explore and burn off energy and explore life, not make them all sit still learning identical things when everyone is different with different interests. Plus the whole label thing. Kids too young are feeling like they are disabled because of how parents react to how they are. Far end of the autism scale who struggle with everything, and those that just hit low level on the spectrum, all seem to be treated the same.

Saying we shouldn’t cure autism because there are autistic people who are high functioning is like saying we shouldn’t cure cancer because some people live perfectly with cancer and it doesn’t effect them so much…

Surely with vaccine uptake decreasing then ASD rates would be decreasing also 😂 ASD is more widespread now due to diagnosis been more accessible and the criteria changing. Also the genetic link, more ASD people are having kids and they are also having kids 💀

I am as well Autistic and on the spectrum but I can do the same exact things someone who isn't on the spectrum can do. The only thing I wish people understand is sometimes LEAVE US ALONE especially at Work!!
