Idk I find it funny when people say Sleep Token aren’t heavy. Id rather hear they are not “constantly heavy” or “excessively heavy” Idk why heaviness became about how much a band can chug and scream in one song to be considered heavy. I listen to a lot of music that would make normies ears bleed & terrify my dad who was in a metal band in the 90s. Sleep Token although not heavy a majority of the time, can and does go fucking hard when they see fit. Part of the enjoyment for me is the little “appetizers”, “desserts” and “palate cleansers” that come before and after the “main course” being the breakdowns found in a large part of their discography. Metal or not, I find myself seamlessly going from traditionally “heavy” bands to Sleep Tokens music and back without even thinking about it 🫡

I LOVE Sleep Token, but they're not heavy imo and that's not a bad thing. They have some songs with heavy moments, but I'd say that the majority of their discography isn't heavy. Their music is still insanely good though.

I like Sleep Token, and i also find them heavy, but they have too much post processing on the instrument sounds sometimes, not my cup of tea of heavy, but it's cool, they're like a "strong push" kind of heavy, not a "Drop kick" kind of heavy like idk Carnifex or other Metalcoreish, Deathcoreish, Slanish kind of metal. Idk exactly how to put whatbi think on words, but some of yall will understand

Having some heavy parts doesn't make you heavy. People have actually done studies and calculated the percentage of heaviness in Sleep Tokens music and it's about 30%. They're about as heavy as Foo Fighters or Smashing Pumpkins.
