Mouth tape can actually be really dangerous because if you're breathing through your nose all night, there's often a reason, and if you just tape before fixing whatever is wrong then you might not be getting enough O2 while you sleep... in a worst case scenario you could die

I honestly went to my ENT cause I couldn't breathe through my nose and it was disrupting my sleep so much because of dry mouth. Turns out I had a massive deviated septum so that was nice to get fixed
