to a lot of women child support is not depending on their man or their ex. which it absolutely is. It's his money that he's paying you. if she was truly independent she wouldn't ask for child support. she would just support the kids when they're with her and he would with when they're with him

I am guessing she was one of those spouses that when her husband went to the field or was deployed you could find her at the club that weekend. Now he is about to retire and the fun is about to end so go get a job and sign the forms and leave is retirement be.

This is a falsehood that passes around the spouses channels spouses are not automatically entitled to any part of a service member’s retirement. It is based on the judge the state and the court some will say yes some will say no, but they still believe these spouses channels.

Both parents are responsible for sharing the expense of caring for the children. But she doesn’t say that the children are with her full time; and the amount she gets will depend on that. If they are with the dad 1/2 the time, she will not receive any child support. So the court needs to make the decision on the amount not her or the dad. As for retirement, each spouse is _typically_ entitled to half of the other spouses funds. But she won’t receive anything until the divorce is final. So she has a long wait ahead of her _if_ she is entitled to those funds. She should have prepared better. But I guess she thought it would be easy. Independence isn’t easy.
