When I was saving for my house deposit. I prioritized savings - it was my first outgoing of the month. Every time I was about to buy something and changed my mind I would put the amount that thing cost straight into savings, because I knew it would be spent elsewhere at a later date if I didn't. I’d already decided September was going to be a ‘no spend’ month as I bought far too much during the past 6 weeks due to being on summer break and knowing I’d be home for the deliveries or just being able to have a shopping day mid week. I did no spend January and then no spend for the whole 40 days of lent so I know I can do it. I’m also going to stop the Friday night chippy tea (kids aren’t happy about that one 🙃) and change the supermarket I do the food shop in to see how much that’ll save me 😊

I started doing mindful spend awhile ago & it helped me save so much money. Now I do random no buy months. I’ve also sold off or donated excess items, it’s made me feel a lot better
